Jeremy Hunt, MP for South West Surrey, calls upon the Haslemere residents to support the plan to build a multi-storey car park at the mainline station.
Following a meeting with Secretary of State for Transport, Patrick McLoughlin MP, earlier this year, local MP Jeremy Hunt has been working hard behind the scenes to galvanise all parties in favour of building a new multi-storey car park at the station in order to present a robust business plan to support it to the Department of Transport. Having had positive dialogue over the last few months with South West Trains and local borough and town councillors Jeremy intends to meet with Patrick McLoughlin in early January with the aim of securing the final go ahead.
Jeremy says, ‘Everyone is really hoping a multi-storey car park will end the nightmare of too many parked cars on residential streets. We have a good plan, but now is the time to get behind what the Town Council are planning so we can persuade the Transport Secretary to seal the deal."
