Jeremy Hunt completed his third London Marathon today (21st April). The Conservative candidate for Godalming and Ash was joined by a group of over 20 people, all close friends and family of his late brother Charlie. The group raised over £100,000 for Sarcoma UK, a cancer charity which funds research into bone and soft tissue sarcoma.
He commented: "thank you to the 517 people who supported me this time."
Jeremy Hunt is a proud campaigner for the Cancer and Surgical Innovation Centre at the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford. He launched a campaign to establish the centre just two years ago. Over £43,000 has been raised for the new Cancer Centre, making a grand total of £110,500 from Jeremy's three marathons.
He visited the site last month and said: "it is clear just how much of a difference this centre will make, treating an extra 7,000 people each year and meaning that many more families will avoid the heartache of losing loved ones to cancer".
