Local MP Jeremy Hunt joined a group of WaterAid supporters from South West Surrey on Saturday as they took part in a ‘Walk for Water’ to help raise money for the charity. WaterAid aims to improve access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world’s poorest communities and the Walk for Water is a national campaign giving people the opportunity to complete short or long routes in a bid to raise money for the charity. The walk on Saturday has so far raised around £1500 which will help transform up to 100 people’s lives.
Jeremy said: “I was so pleased the weather was on side on Saturday afternoon as my son and I joined the participants at Newlands corner. Congratulations to the South West Surrey WaterAid campaigners whose fundraising efforts will help some of the world’s poorest people access safe water”.
