- Extended car park at Haslemere station now open
- Improved facilities for passengers with extra security and better lighting
- Part of major investment in extra car parking spaces across the network
The new and improved car park at Haslemere station, adding an extra 110 car parking spaces as well as better facilities for passengers, is now open.
Work started at Haslemere station in August to create decked parking on top of the existing car park. Improved security, extra CCTV cameras, new Help Points, segregated walkways and improved lighting all feature in the new car park.
Alistair Wright, Head of Station Property for West Trains, said: “We’re delighted to open the expanded car park at Haslemere. We know how important the car park is to local residents.
“Expanding car parking capacity across the network continues to be a key priority for us. By the end of the year we will have delivered an extra 1,400 spaces.”
Jeremy Hunt MP for South West Surrey said: “After many years working towards this new parking facility for the station in Haslemere it is wonderful to see the car park finally open.
“It not only provides the much needed extra parking but it is more secure and safer for those using the station. Many thanks to everyone who has been involved in bringing this to fruition for our wonderful town.”
