Local MP Jeremy Hunt enjoyed a preview of the restored Grade 2* listed gallery building at Watts Gallery in Compton on Friday and took the opportunity to thank the many donors, trusts and foundations whose generosity has made the vital restoration possible.
Jeremy said: “This is a remarkable example of entrepreneurial philanthropy and Perdita and her team of volunteers and donors have done brilliantly. Watts was an inspiring, enigmatic and versatile artist and we are very lucky to have this treasure trove of his work on our patch. Who knows, it could inspire the next GF Watts to emerge locally?”
