Local MP Jeremy Hunt is urging local residents in Haslemere, concerned about new parking proposals, to submit their comments to Surrey County Council’s consultation. Jeremy has been inundated with emails and letters on the issue which proposes on street parking charges in the Town Centre and around the station. He has long been an advocate of improvements to parking at the station and will be meeting with Network Rail to discuss how this can be achieved.
Jeremy says: “Parking around Haslemere Station has long been a nightmare but we need to make sure we find the right way to sort it out. The long term solution will involve increasing capacity at the station, but in terms of what can be done now people need to make their feelings known in the consultation. I intend to be closely involved in helping to work out a sensible way forward.""
