Jeremy Hunt MP for South West Surrey met with Blind Children UK & Sight For Surrey at the Godalming Hub on Friday 14th November. Following a chat with 17yr old Josh, who has benefitted from their services, Jeremy accompanied him through Godalming Town Centre to get a better idea as to the value of the techniques he has acquired which have gained him greater indpendence. Jeremy said, '“It was a pleasure to meet Josh and observe him taking part in a habilitation demonstration. He spoke very eloquently about his experience of being a young man keen to participate in everything that his peers do. He also made it very clear to me just how valuable Blind Children UK’s assistance has been in enabling him to acquire the type of independence we would wish all young people could have whilst managing a disability. I wish him all the best for the future and hope that Blind Children UK and Sight for Surrey continue to lead the way with the fantastic work they are doing with blind children in the area.”
